Using HRP conjugated antibody may result in high, non-specific background staining. The non-specific background can be significantly reduced by pre-treatment of tissues with hydrogen peroxide prior to incubation with HRP conjugated antibody. Pictures show mouse gastrocnemius staining with no pre-treatment and pre-treatment with Hydrogen Peroxide Blocking solution from abcam. Results shows a significant improvement with an abolished background staining.
