Properties

Applications

Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab9724 in the following tested applications.

The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Application Abreviews Notes
WB Use a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 µg/ml.
ELISA Use at an assay dependent concentration. To detect mIL-1a by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µl/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5 - 2.0 µg/ml of this antibody is required.
Neutralising Use a concentration of 0.03 - 0.05 µg/ml.
ICC/IF Use a concentration of 1 µg/ml.

Target

  • Function
Produced by activated macrophages, IL-1 stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing IL-2 release, B-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity. IL-1 proteins are involved in the inflammatory response, being identified as endogenous pyrogens, and are reported to stimulate the release of prostaglandin and collagenase from synovial cells.
  • Sequence similarities
    Belongs to the IL-1 family.
  • Domain
The similarity among the IL-1 precursors suggests that the amino ends of these proteins serve some as yet undefined function.
  • Cellular localization
Secreted. The lack of a specific hydrophobic segment in the precursor sequence suggests that IL-1 is released by damaged cells or is secreted by a mechanism differing from that used for other secretory proteins.

Answer

Thank you for your reply. I have attached a screenshot of the documentations requirements for this product according to the Automated Import Reference System (AIRS). Regardless of the country of origin for the product, only a commercial invoice clearly stating the country of origin is required. The required invoice should have been included in the package that was shipped. We do not issue Zoosanitary Export Certificates for any of our products, and we are able to ship to ab9724 to Canada directly and through our Canadian distributor Cedarlane. I hope this helps, please let me know if you need any additional information.

Answer

Thank you for contacting us. Since this product (ab9724) is classified as an antibody for in vitro use and has been raised in rabbit, no Zoosanitary Export Certificate is needed to ship it to Canada. If you go to this website: http://www.inspection.gc.ca/english/imp/airse.shtml# …and select 30, 02, 10, 1095, and 17 (the product in question is an “antibody for in vitro use – rabbit”) then you can see that that the only paperwork that is needed is a commercial invoice. A Zoosanitary Export Certificate is needed when choosing 6 "Blood, serum, plasma or derivatives for in vitro use – rabbit” instead of 17. We have tested a number of our antibodies when stored at room temperature and as high as 45C for several weeks and have found that it has no negative effect on the antibody efficacy. Antibodies that have been stored at above the recommended temperature due to shipping issues will still be covered under our Abpromise guarantee. If you have are unable to obtain satisfactory results when the product arrives, please let me know and I would be happy to offer you a free of charge replacement, credit, or refund. I hope this helps, please let me know if you need any additional information.
