Application Abreviews Notes
WB Use a concentration of 1 µg/ml. Detects a band of approximately 17 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 17 kDa).

Target

  • Function

Produced by T-cells in response to antigenic or mitogenic stimulation, this protein is required for T-cell proliferation and other activities crucial to regulation of the immune response. Can stimulate B-cells, monocytes, lymphokine-activated killer cells, natural killer cells, and glioma cells.
  • Involvement in disease

Note=A chromosomal aberration involving IL2 is found in a form of T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL). Translocation t(4;16)(q26;p13) with involves TNFRSF17.
  • Sequence similarities

    Belongs to the IL-2 family.
  • Cellular localization

    Secreted.

    Secondary
    Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG H&L (HRP) (ab97051) at 1/10000 dilution

    Developed using the ECL technique.

    Performed under reducing conditions.

    Predicted band size: 17 kDa
    Observed band size: 17 kDa

    Exposure time: 2 minutes

This blot was produced using a 10% Bis-tris gel under the MES buffer system. The gel was run at 200V for 35 minutes before being transferred onto a Nitrocellulose membrane at 30V for 70 minutes. The membrane was then blocked for an hour using 5% Bovine Serum Albumin before being incubated with ab125161 overnight at 4°C. Antibody binding was detected using an anti-rabbit antibody conjugated to HRP, and visualised using ECL development solution.
