Target

  • Relevance

Jagged 2 is a Notch ligand involved in the mediation of Notch signaling. Jagged 2 is expressed in heart, placenta and skeletal muscle and to a lesser extend in pancreas. Very low expression in brain, lung, liver and kidney. The Notch signaling pathway is an intercellular signaling mechanism that is essential for proper embryonic development. Members of the Notch gene family encode transmembrane receptors that are critical for various cell fate decisions. Jagged 2 is one of several ligands that activate Notch and related receptors. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for Jagged 2.

Images

This Fast-Track antibody is not yet fully characterised. These images represent inconclusive preliminary data.

  • Western blot for Jagged 2/JAG2 antibody (ab10556) at 1/500 tested on the following tissue lysates:

    Lane 1: Mouse Brain
    Lane 2: Mouse Lung
    Lane 3: Rat Brain
    Lane 4: Rat Lung
Lane 5: Mouse Brain Day 0

    Secondary ab: Goat anti-rabbit IgG ab6721 (1/5000)
    Exposure time: 10 minutes
    Expected molecular weight: 130 kDa
Cell lysates at 20µg per lane.

NB: This image shows that is was not possible to detect Jagged 2/JAG2 by WB in the lysates tested. This maybe due to low expression/abundance of Jagged 2/JAG2 compounded by the fact that Jagged 2/JAG2 expression is developmentally regulated and induced making it difficult to detect in whole tissue homogenates. In favour of the Jagged 2/JAG2 antibody (ab10556), this WB shows relatively low background and minimal cross reactivity in tissue lysate.

Customer reviews and Q&As

Answer

Thank you for your patience. Regarding ab10580 (Goat polyclonal to Jagged 1), this is a polyclonal antibody therefore it is likely that several isotypes are present. However, this product has not been assayed to determine what isotypes are present. Please take a look at ab37373 (Goat IgG - Isotype Control, This antibody has been selected as an isotype control as it has no known specificity)). I think this is what you are searching for. Please don't hesitate to contact us again if you have further questions.
