    • General notes

Reproducibility is key to advancing scientific discovery and accelerating scientists’ next breakthrough.

Abcam is leading the way with our range of recombinant antibodies, knockout-validated antibodies and knockout cell lines, all of which support improved reproducibility.

We are also planning to innovate the way in which we present recommended applications and species on our product datasheets, so that only applications & species that have been tested in our own labs, our suppliers or by selected trusted collaborators are covered by our Abpromise™ guarantee.

In preparation for this, we have started to update the applications & species that this product is Abpromise guaranteed for.

We are also updating the applications & species that this product has been “predicted to work with,” however this information is not covered by our Abpromise guarantee.

Applications & species from publications and Abreviews that have not been tested in our own labs or in those of our suppliers are not covered by the Abpromise guarantee.

Please check that this product meets your needs before purchasing. Target

    • Function

Component of the HBO1 complex which has a histone H4-specific acetyltransferase activity, a reduced activity toward histone H3 and is responsible for the bulk of histone H4 acetylation in vivo. Through chromatin acetylation it may regulate DNA replication and act as a coactivator of TP53-dependent transcription. Specifically represses AR-mediated transcription.
    • Tissue specificity

Ubiquitously expressed, with highest levels in testis.
    • Sequence similarities

Belongs to the MYST (SAS/MOZ) family.
      Contains 1 C2HC-type zinc finger.
    • Domain

The C2HC-type zinc finger is required for interaction with MCM2 and ORC1L.
The N-terminus is involved in transcriptional repression, while the C-terminus mediates AR-interaction.
    • Post-translational
      modifications

Phosphorylated upon DNA damage, probably by ATM or ATR.
    • Cellular localization

      Nucleus > nucleoplasm.

    Answer

Thank you for your phone call.
The overall homology between Human and Xenopus is 93%. Thus, in general there is good chance for an antibody raised against human to work in Xenopus.
For ab31506 the homology of the immunogen with Xenopus is 100%.
For ab87100 the homology of the immunogen with Xenopus is 90%. For the other Hbo1 antibodies I currently do not have information about the immunogen range. I can check with the lab if you like - please let me know.
None of these antibodies has been tested in IP.
