What does multiplexing mean to you?
Many multiplex technologies require you to split your sample across different wells and detect single targets in each well. While such parallel miRNA detection allows the analysis of multiple targets, many potential benefits of multiplexing are not fulfilled.
We use the term ‘true multiplex’ to reflect that our miRNA assay can simultaneously measure up to 68 miRNAs in every well. This approach to multiplexing allows you to save time and sample; however, these aren’t the only benefits that true multiplexed analysis can bring to your experiments.

More efficient experiments
Robust validation of biomarker signatures requires measurement of multiple miRNAs across large patient cohorts. By measuring 68 miRNAs per well, you can analyze samples from many more patients, while keeping your workload manageable.
True multiplexing with the multiplex circulating miRNA Assay means that profiling 50 miRNAs in 150 patients can be achieved in a single day using two 96 well plates. The same experiment using qPCR can take up to two weeks and involves splitting each patient’s sample into 50 wells, using over eighty 96 well plates.
Our assay also allows you to be more efficient with your samples. By avoiding splitting of your sample across multiple wells, you can use a fraction of the sample amount required for non-multiplex miRNA assay methods.
Enhanced experimental design
Multiple miRNA biomarkers are better able to describe a disease than single miRNAs. The multiplexing capability of our miRNA assay allows you to take forward a larger panel of miRNAs for testing, reducing the chances of discounting important miRNAs and allowing you to discover more robust miRNA signatures.
With miRNA abundance fluctuating due to circadian rhythms, ethnic and gender differences, and variation in sample collection and processing, it is important to be able to include appropriate controls. True multiplex analysis allows you to quantify multiple normalizers—miRNAs whose expression is expected to be stable—within each well. With robust data normalization, you can be confident in your conclusions.
