  • Function

    Histone methyltransferase that specifically trimethylates 'Lys-20' of histone H4. H4 'Lys-20' trimethylation represents a specific tag for epigenetic transcriptional repression. Mainly functions in pericentric heterochromatin regions, thereby playing a central role in the establishment of constitutive heterochromatin in these regions. SUV420H1 is targeted to histone H3 via its interaction with RB1 family proteins (RB1, RBL1 and RBL2).

  • Anti-KMT5C/SUV4-20h2 antibody (ab91224) at 1/50 dilution + Mouse stomach tissue lysate at 35 µg

    Predicted band size: 52 kDa

  • Chromatin from cells was immunoprecipitated with IgG (negative control) or SUV420H2 antibodies (ab91224), and DNA was extracted from the immunoprecipitated samples. Immunoprecipitated DNA was subjected to real-time PCR with primer sets that span the TMS1 genomic regions and is expressed as a percentage of input DNA. Data are mean ± S.D. from a representative experiment from triplicate determinants.
