Histamine Assay Kit (Colorimetric) (ab235630) can be used to identify levels of histamine.
With this kit histamine can be detected in samples at concentrations as low as 10 μM, or 10 μg/mL (10 ppm). This kit is very specific and does not interact with other bioamines.
This product is manufactured by BioVision, an Abcam company and was previously called K506 Histamine Assay Kit (Colorimetric). K506-100 is the same size as the 100 test size of ab235630.
Histamine is a biogenic amine with considerable biological relevance. As a signaling molecule histamine plays manifold roles in the body, ranging from local immune responses to neurotransmission. Some bacteria generate histamine from histidine via the enzyme histidine decarboxylase.
