Wherever possible, you should prepare and use solutions on the same day. However, if you need to make up stock solutions in advance, we recommend that you store the solution as aliquots in tightly sealed vials at -20°C. Generally, these will be useable for up to one month. Before use, and prior to opening the vial we recommend that you allow your product to equilibrate to room temperature for at least 1 hour.

Biological function summary
The nitric oxide produced by these enzymes is an important signaling molecule involved in numerous physiological processes. eNOS generates NO to regulate vascular tone by promoting vasodilation which is critical for blood pressure control. iNOS unlike eNOS usually appears as a response to inflammatory cytokines and microbial products playing a role in immune defense by producing larger quantities of NO. NOS enzymes often form complexes with other proteins like calmodulin to modulate their activity.
Pathways
Nitric oxide synthase enzymes are essential parts of the nitric oxide pathway significantly affecting cellular signaling and function. eNOS is integral to the endothelial signaling pathway closely interacting with proteins such as AKT and VEGF to influence vascular homeostasis and angiogenesis. iNOS is part of the immune response pathway where its interaction with NF-κB drives immune function under pathological conditions.
