SIRT2 also known as Sirtuin 2 is a member of the sirtuin family of proteins which are NAD+-dependent deacetylases known for regulating various cellular processes. SIRT2 has a molecular mass of approximately 43 kDa. Its expression is prominent in the cytoplasm but can also be found in the nucleus of cells particularly in the brain and liver tissues.
