Wherever possible, you should prepare and use solutions on the same day. However, if you need to make up stock solutions in advance, we recommend that you store the solution as aliquots in tightly sealed vials at -20°C. Biological function summary
S1P1 regulates critical processes such as vascular homeostasis immune cell trafficking and endothelial barrier integrity. Importantly it forms part of a multi-subunit complex that includes other proteins like G-proteins. Upon activation by S1P the receptor can lead to cytoskeletal rearrangements and changes in cell morphology. S1P1’s function is linked closely with immune system modulation influencing lymphocyte circulation and migration.
Pathways
S1P1 participates actively in the sphingolipid signaling pathway and the PI3K/AKT pathway. This receptor interacts with molecules like Rac and RhoA which are essential for maintaining endothelial barrier function. Through these pathways S1P1 influences processes such as cell migration and proliferation making it important for maintaining vascular system dynamics. Its relationship with PI3K leads to the activation of downstream effectors necessary for cell survival and growth.
