Interpolated concentrations of human ADAM10 in serum, plasma (heparin) and plasma (EDTA)

Interpolated concentration of native ADAM10 was measured in duplicate at different sample concentrations. Undiluted samples are as follows : serum 50%, plasma (heparin) 25%, and plasma (EDTA) 50%. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). Sample dilutions are made in Sample Diluent NS.

Interpolated concentrations of ADAM10 in normal human serum donors

Serum of ten individual healthy human male donors was measured in duplicate. Interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +- SD, n=2). The mean ADAM10 concentration was determined to be 2.06 ng/mL with a range of 0.25 – 8.20 ng/mL.

How the assay works

Human ADAM10 SimpleStep ELISA®employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. The ADAM10 protein also known as CD156c is a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease) family. It functions as a metalloproteinase enzyme involved in the ectodomain shedding of various cell surface proteins. ADAM10 has an approximate molecular weight of 85 kDa. This protein has broad expression in various tissues including the brain heart and liver and performs key enzymatic activities that affect cellular communication.
