Human DKK4 ELISA Kit (ab243690) is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of DKK4 protein in cell culture supernatant, cit plasma, edta plasma, and serum. It uses our proprietary SimpleStep ELISA® technology. Quantitate Human DKK4 with 5.17 pg/ml sensitivity.

SimpleStep ELISA® technology employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. Dickkopf-related protein 4 (DKK4) acts as an inhibitor of the Wnt signaling pathway which affects cell fate proliferation and migration. Known aliases for DKK4 include DKK-4 and DKK-4 protein. It possesses a molecular mass of around 27 kDa. DKK4 mainly expresses in the skin gastrointestinal tract and placenta indicating roles in these tissues and systems. Biological function summary

DKK4 participates in the regulation of embryonic development and tissue homeostasis. Antagonizes canonical Wnt signaling by inhibiting LRP5/6 interaction with Wnt and by forming a ternary complex with the transmembrane protein KREMEN that promotes internalization of LRP5/6. DKKs play an important role in vertebrate development, where they locally inhibit Wnt regulated processes such as antero-posterior axial patterning, limb development, somitogenesis and eye formation. In the adult, Dkks are implicated in bone formation and bone disease, cancer and Alzheimer disease (By similarity).
