Interpolated concentrations of human Factor B in serum plasma (citrate) plasma (EDTA) and plasma (heparin).
Interpolated concentration of native Factor B was measured in duplicate at different sample concentrations. Undiluted samples are 1 : 100000. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD n=2). Sample dilutions are made in Sample Diluent NS.

Interpolated concentration of native Factor B was measured in duplicate at different sample concentrations. Undiluted samples are as follows : HepG2 cell culture supernatant 1 : 8 saliva 1 : 16 and milk 1 : 800. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD n=2). Sample dilutions are made in Sample Diluent NS.

Serum of eight individual healthy human female donors was measured in duplicate. Interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +- SD n=2). The mean Factor B concentration was determined to be 255 µg/mL with a range of 178 – 331 µg/mL.

How the assay works
Human Factor B ELISA Kit, Chemiluminescent (ab327321) SimpleStep Ignite™ ELISA employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step during a 30 min only incubation, significantly reducing assay time. By utilizing a chemiluminscent detection method this improves the sensitivity and dynamic range when compared to traditional colorimetric ELISAs.

Precursor of the catalytic component of the C3 and C5 convertase complexes of the alternative pathway of the complement system, a cascade of proteins that leads to phagocytosis and breakdown of pathogens and signaling that strengthens the adaptive immune system (PubMed : 3638964, PubMed : 624565, PubMed : 6554279, PubMed : 6919543, PubMed : 9748277). The alternative complement pathway acts as an amplification loop that enhances other complement pathways (classical, lectin and GZMK) by promoting formation of additional C3 and C5 convertases (PubMed : 3638964, PubMed : 624565, PubMed : 6554279, PubMed : 6919543, PubMed : 9748277). CFB is cleaved and activated by CFD to generate Ba and Bb chains; Bb chain constituting the catalytic component of the C3 and C5 convertases (PubMed : 6769474, PubMed : 9748277).. Complement factor B Bb. Serine protease component of the complement C3 and C5 convertase complexes of the alternative complement pathway (PubMed : 30643019, PubMed : 3638964, PubMed : 624565, PubMed : 6554279, PubMed : 6919543). Following cleavage and activation by factor D (CFD), forms the C3 convertase together with complement C3b (PubMed : 3638964, PubMed : 624565, PubMed : 6554279, PubMed : 6919543, PubMed : 9748277).
