Interpolated concentrations of human SNAIL in HeLa cell extract, HCT 116 MG-132 treated cell extract, and HCT 116 untreated cell extract
Interpolated concentration of native SNAIL was measured in duplicate at different sample concentrations. Undiluted samples are 500 µg/mL for HeLa cell extract, HCT 116 MG-132 treated (25μM, 4 hours) cell extract, and HCT 116 untreated cell extract. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). Sample dilutions are made in 1X Cell Extraction Buffer PTR.

Human SNAIL SimpleStep ELISA® kit is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of SNAIL protein in Cell culture extracts. Quantitate Human SNAIL with 25.385 pg/ml sensitivity.
SimpleStep ELISA® technology employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. Biological function summary
SNAIL contributes to the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) a process critical for embryogenesis and tumor progression. It forms a part of a complex network of transcription factors that regulate cell-cell adhesion molecules like E-cadherin. SNAIL's ability to bind to specific DNA sequences allows it to suppress or activate the transcription of target genes promoting cellular metamorphosis and enabling cells to acquire motility and invade other tissues.
Pathways
SNAIL operates significantly within the TGF-beta and Wnt signaling pathways. The TGF-beta pathway enhances the expression of SNAIL which in turn represses genes that maintain the epithelial phenotype. The Wnt pathway also modulates SNAIL activity connecting it with proteins such as beta-catenin to drive EMT. These pathways highlight SNAIL's involvement in sophisticated signaling pathways that determine cell behavior adaptation and tissue remodeling.
