50 µl of 0.1ug/ml of cAMP-SPDP-BSA was coated into 96-wells. After blocking with 1% BSA, 25 µl of 5 mg/ml of cAMP, 5’-AMP, 5’-AMP-Na2, ADP, ATP, cGMP, GMP, GDP, GTP, cIMP, cCMP, Adenosine, or H2O and 25 µl of ab140604 at 0.5 ug/ml were added to 96-wells and incubated for 30 min on a shaker. After washing, HRP conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG Fc specific antibody was added and incubated. After washing, TMB substrate was used to develop color.

Adenosine phosphate commonly referred to as adenine nucleotides includes compounds like adenosine monophosphate (AMP) adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and adenosine triphosphate (ATP). These molecules have important roles in energy transfer and storage. All types of cells express adenosine phosphates reflecting its significance in cellular activities. The molecular weight can vary depending on the number of phosphate groups: for example ATP which is the most well-known form typically has a mass of approximately 507.18 g/mol.
Biological function summary

Adenosine phosphates serve as energy currency within the cell. They do not generally exist in isolation but are part of larger complexes and biochemical structures. For instance ATP is particularly known for its role in coupling and driving endergonic reactions ensuring cells receive the necessary energy for various processes. When hydrolyzed ATP releases a significant amount of energy which is then harnessed by cellular machinery to perform tasks like biosynthesis motility and division.

Pathways

The role of adenosine phosphates is central to cellular respiration and metabolism. The oxidative phosphorylation pathway within mitochondria is a critical process involving ATP synthesis. Related proteins include various subunits of ATP synthase which play roles in converting ADP to ATP. Another relevant pathway is glycolysis where ADP and ATP are key players in the breakdown of glucose to provide energy with enzymes like phosphofructokinase aiding the transformation processes.

Its dysregulation or imbalance is linked to conditions such as mitochondrial diseases and ischemic events. Mitochondrial diseases frequently result from impaired energy production involving proteins like mitochondrial ATP synthase. Meanwhile ischemic conditions connecting to disrupted ATP supply can exacerbate symptoms or lead to further cellular damage. Understanding the role of adenosine phosphates in these disorders can guide research for potential therapeutic interventions.
