Immunofluorescent analysis of 4% Paraformaldehyde-fixed, 0.1% TritonX-100 permeabilized SH-SY5Y (human neuroblastoma epithelial cell) cells labelling Doublecortin with ab307383 at 1/50 (10.0 ug/ml) dilution (Green). Confocal image showing cytoplasmic staining in SH-SY5Y cells. Negative control : HeLa (PMID : 18312642)Image was taken with a confocal microscope (Leica-Microsystems, TCS SP8). ab195887 Anti-alpha Tubulin mouse monoclonal antibody - Microtubule Marker (Alexa Fluor® 488) was used to counterstain tubulin at 1/200 2.5ug/ml dilution (Red). The Nuclear counterstain was DAPI (Blue).

Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded Mouse testis tissue labeling Doublecortin with ab307383 at 1/100 (5.0 ug/ml) followed by a at dilution. Negative control : no staining on mouse testis.The section was incubated with ab307383 for 60 mins at room temperature (shown in red). Nuclear DNA was labeled with DAPI (shown in blue). The section was then mounted using Fluoromount®.The immunostaining was performed on a Leica Biosystems BOND RX instrument.Image was taken with a confocal microscope (Leica-Microsystems, TCS SP8). Heat mediated antigen retrieval was performed with Tris-EDTA buffer (pH 9.0, Epitope Retrieval Solution2) for 40 mins

Microtubule-associated protein required for initial steps of neuronal dispersion and cortex lamination during cerebral cortex development. May act by competing with the putative neuronal protein kinase DCLK1 in binding to a target protein. May in that way participate in a signaling pathway that is crucial for neuronal interaction before and during migration, possibly as part of a calcium ion-dependent signal transduction pathway. May be part with PAFAH1B1/LIS-1 of overlapping, but distinct, signaling pathways that promote neuronal migration.
