Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence - Anti-ARFRP1/ARP antibody [EPR3899] - BSA and Azide free (AB247605)

Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence analysis of HeLa (human cervix adenocarcinoma epithelial cell) cells labeling ARFRP1/ARP with purified ab108199 at 1/500 dilution (4.8 μg/mL). Cells were fixed in 4% Paraformaldehyde and permeabilized with 0.1% tritonX-100. Cells were counterstained with ab195889 Anti-alpha Tubulin antibody [DM1A] - Microtubule Marker (Alexa Fluor® 594) 1/200 (2.5 μg/mL). Goat anti rabbit IgG (Alexa Fluor® 488, ab150077) was used as the secondary antibody at 1/1000 (2 μg/mL) dilution. DAPI (blue) was used as nuclear counterstain. ab195889 Anti-alpha Tubulin antibody [DM1A] - Microtubule Marker (Alexa Fluor® 594) 1/200 (2.5 μg/mL) was used as the secondary antibody only control.

This data was developed using the same antibody clone in a different buffer formulation containing PBS, BSA, glycerol, and sodium azide (ab108199).

The target ARFRP1 also known as ARP functions mechanistically as a small GTPase belonging to the ARF family. This protein possesses an approximate molecular mass of 20 kDa. It is ubiquitously expressed in various tissues exhibiting a significant presence in the cytoplasm and membrane compartments. ARFRP1 plays a role in regulating membrane trafficking and lipid metabolism influencing the formation and function of vesicles within the cell.
Biological function summary

ARFRP1 participates in intracellular vesicle transport and is critical for maintaining cellular homeostasis. It forms part of a complex that interacts with other proteins involved in vesicular traffic affecting cargo selection and vesicle formation. ARFRP1 contributes to maintaining the structural integrity of the Golgi apparatus and endosomes influencing the distribution of proteins and lipids across cellular compartments.

Pathways

ARFRP1 features prominently in pathways related to endocytic and exocytic transport. In the context of membrane traffic it closely interacts with proteins such as ARL1 and ARL4 which also play roles in these pathways.
