CCK1-R also known as the Cholecystokinin receptor is a G-protein coupled receptor. It specifically binds to the gastrointestinal hormone cholecystokinin and is involved in regulating digestive processes. The receptor is expressed in various tissues including the pancreas and small intestine and plays a significant role in facilitating digestive enzyme secretion and bile acid release. CCK1-R has a molecular mass of approximately 45 kDa. The receptor also serves as an important target for the development of CCK antagonists such as lorglumide which can be used to modify its activity.
Biological function summary

The cholecystokinin receptor helps regulate satiety and digestive enzyme secretion. It is not typically part of a larger protein complex. The binding of cholecystokinin to CCK1-R stimulates pancreatic enzyme secretion gallbladder contraction and gastric emptying inhibition. This receptor also plays a role in the modulation of food intake and energy balance mediated through its signaling pathways.

Pathways

The CCK receptor plays an important role within the digestive system's gastrointestinal hormone signaling pathway and the central nervous system's appetite regulation pathway. It interacts with various proteins including the MAP kinase pathway components to mediate physiological responses. Additionally CCK1-R is closely linked with proteins involved in the gallbladder contraction such as motilin which further highlights its contribution to digestive processes.

CCK1-R is associated with obesity and pancreatic disorders. Altered expression or function of this receptor can contribute to metabolic imbalances leading to obesity due to disrupted satiety signaling. In the context of pancreatic disorders CCK1-R is linked to pancreatitis where excessive pancreatic enzyme secretion leads to inflammation. The receptor interacts with proteins such as trypsinogen linking its role in disease progression and highlighting its significance as a therapeutic target.

타겟 정보

Receptor for cholecystokinin. Mediates pancreatic growth and enzyme secretion, smooth muscle contraction of the gall bladder and stomach. Has a 1000-fold higher affinity for CCK rather than for gastrin. It modulates feeding and dopamine-induced behavior in the central and peripheral nervous system. This receptor mediates its action by association with G proteins that activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system.
