EMP3 also known as epithelial membrane protein 3 is a protein with a mass of 25 kDa. This protein belongs to the PMP22/EMP family and is expressed in various tissues including the brain lung and skeletal muscle. EMP3 features a four-transmembrane domain structure and it plays a critical role in cellular communication and signaling. It localizes primarily to the plasma membrane which suggests its involvement in processes requiring membrane interaction.
Biological function summary

EMP3 impacts cell proliferation and differentiation. It participates in the regulation of cell adhesion and may interact with other proteins to influence cellular morphology.
