추가 정보

G protein-coupled receptor 110 or GPR110 also known as ADGRF1 plays a significant role in cell signaling mechanisms. This receptor is part of the adhesion GPCR family and exhibits a large extracellular domain. GPR110 has a molecular mass that may vary based on its glycosylation patterns but it typically approaches 115 kDa. Researchers have identified its expression in various tissues with higher levels noted in the lungs brain and testes. Its unique structure allows it to interact with a variety of ligands mediating diverse cellular responses.
Biological function summary

GPR110 engages in key cellular processes that influence immune responses and cellular communication. This receptor is not part of any known major protein complex but it often pairs intracellularly with G proteins to transmit signals. GPR110 mediates cell adhesion and migration important for maintaining tissue architecture and immune cell trafficking. It may impact early developmental stages due to its significant involvement in signaling pathways linked to cell growth and differentiation.

Pathways

GPR110 integrates into the Wnt signaling pathway and the PI3K/Akt pathway both of which are central to cell growth and survival. Its interaction with the Wnt pathway links it to essential regulatory proteins like beta-catenin influencing gene transcription and cell fate decisions. The PI3K/Akt pathway associates GPR110 with proteins that control apoptosis and cell proliferation. These connections highlight its regulatory roles in cellular dynamics indicating its contributions to these essential pathways.

GPR110 has links to lung cancer and neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's disease. In lung cancer overexpression or mutations of GPR110 may lead to aberrant cell signaling contributing to uncontrolled cell proliferation and tumor growth. In Alzheimer's disease abnormal GPR110 activity might influence neuronal signaling and cell survival with possible interactions involving the Alzheimer's-related protein beta-amyloid. Understanding these connections helps researchers explore potential therapeutic targets for these conditions.

타겟 정보

Adhesion G-protein coupled receptor (aGPCR) for N-docosahexaenoylethanolamine (synaptamide), an omega-3 fatty acid lipid highly enriched in the brain (PubMed : 27759003, PubMed : 32144388). Ligand binding causes a conformation change that triggers signaling via guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) and modulates the activity of downstream effectors, such as adenylate cyclase (PubMed : 35418679, PubMed : 36127364, PubMed : 37120430). ADGRF1 is coupled to G(s) G proteins and mediates activation of adenylate cyclase activity (PubMed : 35418679). Also able to couple to G(q), G(i) and G(12)/G(13) G proteins; additional evidence is however required to confirm this result in vivo (PubMed : 36127364, PubMed : 37120430). Involved in the development of neurons and cognitive function (By similarity). In liver, involved in fat accumulation (By similarity).
