Positive staining on (A) HEK-293T transfected with a human GPR52 expression vector containing a his tag. No staining on (B) HEK-293T transfected with empty vector containing a his tag.
The section was incubated with ab315438 for 30 mins at room temperature.
The immunostaining was performed on a Leica Biosystems BOND® RX instrument
Incubate slides with 3% Hydrogen Peroxide for 10 mins at room temperature after secondary antibody incubation to reduce the background

Counterstained with Hematoxylin.

The G protein-coupled receptor 52 (GPCR GPR52) also known simply as GPR52 functions as a receptor within the central nervous system. It encodes for a protein that weighs around 42 kDa. This receptor is part of the larger GPCR family which is known for mediating various physiological responses. GPR52 mainly expresses in the brain particularly in regions like the striatum and cortex areas important for cognition and motor control.
Biological function summary

This receptor facilitates neurotransmission by modulating cAMP (cyclic adenosine monophosphate) levels when activated. It does not require a complex formation but acts directly in this signaling process. It affects the release of neurotransmitters influencing activities such as movement motivation and emotion. May play a role in locomotor activity through modulation of dopamine, NMDA and ADORA2A-induced locomotor activity.
