Immunoprecipitation - Anti-NAB1 antibody (AB241305)

NAB1 was immunoprecipitated from HeLa (human epithelial cell line from cervix adenocarcinoma) whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) usind ab241305 at 6 μg/mg lysate. Western bot was performed on the immunoprecipitate using ab241305 at 0.4 μg/ml.

Lane 1 : ab241305 IP in HeLa whole cell lysate.
Lane 2 : Control IgG.

Detection : Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 10 seconds.

NAB1 also known as NGFI-A-binding protein 1 is a transcriptional repressor that interacts with zinc finger proteins to regulate gene expression. NAB1 has a molecular mass of approximately 66 kDa. This protein is expressed in various tissues including the nervous system. It plays a role in modulating the activity of target genes by binding to specific DNA sequences in cooperation with EGR transcription factors.

Biological function summary

NAB1 functions as a critical regulator in cellular processes by forming a complex with EGR-1 also known as early growth response protein 1. This interaction allows NAB1 to influence the expression of several genes involved in cell differentiation proliferation and apoptosis. NAB1 ensures proper cellular responses to environmental stimuli by repressing gene transcription that EGR-1 activates.

NAB1 frequently associates with the MAPK/ERK signaling pathway and the apoptotic pathway.
