NDUFS7 also known as NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase subunit S7 plays an important role in complex I of the mitochondrial respiratory chain. This protein with a mass of about 21 kDa is expressed in tissues with high energy demands such as heart brain and skeletal muscle. NDUFS7 contributes to the electron transport pathway by facilitating the transfer of electrons from NADH to ubiquinone.

NDUFS7 becomes a functional component through its participation in the mitochondrial complex I. This large multi-subunit complex is essential for ATP production and consists of 45 subunits.
