NSUN6 was immunoprecipitated from 0.35 mg Hela (human cervix adenocarcinoma epithelial cell) whole cell lysate 20 ug with ab307430 at 1/30 dilution (2ug in 0.35mg lysates). Western blot was performed on the immunoprecipitate using ab307430 at 1/1000 dilution. VeriBlot for IP secondary antibody (HRP) (ab131366) was used at 1/5000 dilution.

NSUN6 also known as NOP2/Sun RNA methyltransferase family member 6 is an RNA-modifying enzyme. It belongs to the NOL1/NOP2/Sun family and is responsible for catalyzing 5-methylcytosine formation on target RNA molecules playing an important role in RNA modification. The molecular mass of NSUN6 is approximately 56 kDa. It is expressed in various tissues but shows higher expression in the liver and skeletal muscle suggesting a potential specialization in these areas.
Biological function summary

NSUN6 contributes to the regulation of cellular processes by modifying RNA molecules. It is not currently identified as part of any known protein complex but significantly influences the stability and function of specific RNA targets.
