Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence - Anti-Protocadherin Gamma (pan) antibody [N159/5] - C-terminal (AB187186)
ab187186 staining Protocadherin gamma (pan) in SK-N-BE cells by Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence (ICC/IF). Cells were fixed with 4% formaldehyde for 15 minutes at room temperature. Samples were incubated wth pirmary antibody at 1/100 dilution for 60 minutes at room temperature. Phalliodin Texas Red F-Actin (1/1000) was used as a counterstain at 1/1000 dilution. DAPI nuclear counterstain was used at 1/5000 dilution.

Biological function summary
Clustered gene expression in the brain results in Protocadherin Gamma being necessary for cell-cell adhesion and signaling mechanisms. The protein organizes into tetramers that form large complexes essential for synaptic specificity. Protocadherin Gamma's interactions occur at the cellular membrane involving extracellular domains that mediate contact with neighboring cells. The protein cooperates with other members of the cadherin family reinforcing cellular adhesion and structural integrity in neural tissues.
Pathways
Functional interactions in neural development prominently involve Protocadherin Gamma. This protein is integrated into the neural circuit assembly and synaptic connection pathways ensuring proper communication within the brain. Protocadherin Gamma demonstrates links to signaling proteins like neural cell adhesion molecules which assist in transmitting extracellular signals to intracellular domains. These pathways play a role in regulating synaptic plasticity which is important for learning and memory processes.
