Biological function summary
RNF125 participates in the immune response by modulating the activity and stability of key signaling proteins. It forms part of a regulatory complex that influences immune signaling pathways. RNF125 acts by ubiquitinating proteins like MAVS which play a role in antiviral responses. Through ubiquitination RNF125 helps regulate the balance between activation and suppression of immune reactions ensuring proper immune function.
Pathways
Researchers have identified RNF125 as an important component of the type I interferon signaling pathway and the TLR (Toll-like receptor) pathway. In the type I interferon pathway RNF125 targets proteins such as MAVS and RIG-I playing a role in antiviral defense. Furthermore RNF125 interacts with TRAF6 in the TLR pathway influencing the body's innate immunity and inflammation responses.
