RPS28 was immunopreciptated from HEK-293T (human epithelial cell line from embryonic kidney transformed with large T antigen) whole cell lysate (1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) using ab241405 at 6 μg per reaction. Western blot was performed on the immunoprecipitate using ab241405 at 0.4 μg/mL.
Lane 1 : ab241405 IP in HEK-293T whole cell lysate.
Lane 2 : Control IgG IP in HEK-293T whole cell lysate.
Detection : Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 10 seconds.

Biological function summary
Ribosomal proteins like RPS28 are essential for protein biosynthesis. RPS28 is a part of the ribosomal small subunit complex which helps decode messenger RNA (mRNA) into polypeptides. Proper functioning of the ribosome ensures the accurate translation of genetic material into proteins which is necessary for cell growth and maintenance. The protein cooperates with other ribosomal proteins to maintain the integrity and functionality of the ribosomal machinery.
Pathways
RPS28 is involved in the translation pathway which is critical for gene expression. It contributes to the initiation phase of translation working alongside the eukaryotic initiation factor 3 (eIF3) complex. The protein also plays a role in the maturation of ribosomal RNA (rRNA) within the ribosome biogenesis pathway. Through these pathways RPS28 interacts with other ribosomal proteins such as RPS15 and RPS23 which are essential for the assembly and function of the ribosome.
