Biological function summary
Selenoprotein H contributes to protecting cells from oxidative damage. It plays a role in regenerating antioxidant molecules and maintaining cellular redox balance. SELH is not known to be part of a larger protein complex but works in concert with other antioxidant molecules to enhance cellular resistance to oxidative stress. It also involves gene regulation particularly through modulating transcription factors that respond to oxidative signals.
