SH3GLB2 also known as Bin1 or Amphiphysin II is a protein involved in membrane dynamics and intracellular trafficking. It has a molecular weight of approximately 40 kDa and is expressed in various tissues with significant expression in the brain heart and skeletal muscle. The protein contains a SH3 domain enabling it to interact with proline-rich motifs of partner proteins. This feature supports its role in processes involving membrane curvature and endocytosis.
Biological function summary

SH3GLB2 participates in the regulation of membrane remodeling. It acts as part of a larger complex that influences synaptic vesicle endocytosis by facilitating the scission of vesicles from the plasma membrane.
