Teneurin-4 also known as TEN4 is a large transmembrane protein with a mass of approximately 300 kDa. It belongs to the teneurin family which is conserved across many species. Teneurin-4 is expressed in various tissues including the central nervous system where it appears extensively during development. It participates in cell adhesion and intercellular signaling suggesting an important role in guiding neuron connections.
Biological function summary

Teneurin-4 functions as an integral part of cellular structure and signaling. It engages in binding and signaling activities at the cellular junctions. In neurons Teneurin-4 contributes to synaptic organization influencing how neurons communicate with each other.
