TM14A also known as Transmembrane protein 14A is a protein consisting of 221 amino acids and has a mass of approximately 24.5 kDa. It is mainly located in the plasma membrane where it spans multiple times through the membrane structure. Researchers find TM14A to express prominently in epithelial tissues particularly within the gastrointestinal tract and respiratory system. Given its transmembrane nature it likely plays significant roles in cellular transportation and signaling processes.
Biological function summary

TM14A serves as an important component in cellular transport mechanisms that involve modulation of ion channels. Studies indicate that TM14A is part of a larger protein complex required for these activities.
