TRFP also known as MED20 is part of the Mediator complex which acts as a communication bridge between gene-specific regulatory proteins and RNA polymerase II. MED20 has a molecular mass of approximately 22 kDa and is essential for the transcriptional coactivation process. This protein is highly expressed in various human tissues including the liver heart and kidneys with detectable levels in several other organs.
