Biological function summary
TRIM23/ARD1 plays a role in immune and inflammatory responses. It participates in the maturation of autophagosomes a process that is essential for cellular repair and stress responses. Rather than functioning independently TRIM23/ARD1 associates with complex cellular systems including the endosomal-lysosomal pathway influencing the degradation and recycling of cellular components.
Pathways
TRIM23/ARD1's activity is integral to the autophagy and NF-kB signaling pathways. In the autophagy pathway TRIM23/ARD1 acts alongside proteins like ULK1 regulating autophagosomal formation and turnover. Within the NF-kB signaling pathway TRIM23/ARD1 modulates transcription factors that respond to inflammation and stress. Through these pathways TRIM23/ARD1 influences cellular responses to environmental stimuli ensuring proper cellular function.
