XRRA1 also known as X-ray radiation resistance-associated protein 1 has a role in cellular responses to radiation. This protein weighs approximately 33 kDa and localizes mainly to the nucleus. It is expressed in several tissues with noteworthy presence in testis and breast tissue. XRRA1 interacts with elements involved in DNA damage repair playing a role in modulating cellular defense mechanisms against radiation.
Biological function summary

XRRA1 influences cellular tolerance and adaptation to radiation-induced stress. This protein associates with components of genetic regulatory networks involved in preserving genomic stability. It does not form an extensive complex but participates in protein interactions that facilitate cell cycle checkpoints and DNA repair processes.
