Reactivity 정보
제품 세부 정보
The Native Human Factor Va protein ab62415 is prepared by activating purified factor V with thrombin and is subsequently purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. This process results in cofactor preparations which are free of both activation peptides and thrombin.
The Native Human Factor Va protein ab62415 is prepared from plasma shown to be non reactive for anti-HIV-1/2, HIV-1 antigen(s), HBsAg, STS, anti-HCV, anti-HBcore and anti-HTLV I & II. Factor V is a very labile protein. Some degraded fragments are usually noticeable in preparations.
The bioactivity of Native Human Factor Va ab62415 is 4050 U/mg and was determined by Factor V clotting assay. One (1) unit is equivalent to the Factor V activity in one (1) milliliter of normal human plasma.
Ensure the validity of your result using our native human Factor Va protein ab62415 as a positive control in SDS-PAGE.

Biological function summary
Factor Va acts as an important component of the blood coagulation cascade. It forms a complex with factor Xa on phospholipid surfaces creating the tenase complex which is essential for the efficient conversion of prothrombin to thrombin. This complexation greatly increases the enzymatic efficiency of thrombin generation which is important for clot formation and stabilization. Factor Va's activity is regulated by activated protein C which inactivates factor Va to prevent excessive clotting.
Pathways
Factor Va significantly impacts the intrinsic and extrinsic pathways of blood coagulation. It directly interacts with factor Xa in the prothrombinase complex driving thrombin production. Thrombin in turn activates fibrinogen to fibrin promoting clot stabilization. The intrinsic and extrinsic pathways converge on factor Xa making its interaction with factor Va a shared critical point. This relationship emphasizes how factor Va integrates into broader coagulation processes.
일반 정보
기능
Central regulator of hemostasis. It serves as a critical cofactor for the prothrombinase activity of factor Xa that results in the activation of prothrombin to thrombin.
서열 유사성
Belongs to the multicopper oxidase family.
Post-translational modifications
Thrombin activates factor V proteolytically to the active cofactor, factor Va (formation of a heavy chain at the N-terminus and a light chain at the C-terminus).. Sulfation is required for efficient thrombin cleavage and activation and for full procoagulant activity.. Activated protein C inactivates factor V and factor Va by proteolytic degradation.. Phosphorylated by FAM20C in the extracellular medium.
