FLT3LG
Function
Stimulates the proliferation of early hematopoietic cells by activating FLT3. Synergizes well with a number of other colony stimulating factors and interleukins. Required for the development of B cells, and dendritic cells (DCs).
Involvement in disease
Immunodeficiency 125
IMD125
An autosomal recessive immunologic disorder characterized by failure to thrive and chronic diarrhea in infancy, and recurrent bacterial, viral, and fungal infections. Patients have severe human papilloma virus (HPV) infections with disseminated common warts, and the bone marrow is hypoplastic with low levels of CD34+ hematopoietic stem cells. Counts of B cells, monocytes, and dendritic cells are low in patients blood.
