Pore-forming (alpha) subunit of voltage-gated rapidly inactivating A-type potassium channels. May contribute to I(To) current in heart and I(Sa) current in neurons. Channel properties are modulated by interactions with other alpha subunits and with regulatory subunits. -

Highly expressed throughout the brain. Expression is very low or absent in other tissues. -

Observed band size: 80 kDa why is the actual band size different from the predicted?
Additional bands at: 25 kDa. We are unsure as to the identity of these extra bands. -
Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded human cerebrum tissue sections labeling Kv4.2/KCND2 with purified ab46797 at 1/100 dilution. ImmunoHistoProbe one step HRP Polymer (ready to use) was used as the secondary antibody. Sections were counterstained with Hematoxylin.
Antigen retrieval was heat mediated antigen retrieval using citrate buffer, pH 6.0).
