  • Function

    Transferrins are iron binding transport proteins which can bind two Fe(3+) ions in association with the binding of an anion, usually bicarbonate.
    Lactotransferrin has antimicrobial activity which depends on the extracellular cation concentration.
    Lactoferroxins A, B and C have opioid antagonist activity. Lactoferroxin A shows preference for mu-receptors, while lactoferroxin B and C have somewhat higher degrees of preference for kappa-receptors than for mu-receptors.
    The lactotransferrin transferrin-like domain 1 functions as a serine protease of the peptidase S60 family that cuts arginine rich regions. This function contributes to the antimicrobial activity.

Ab25811 is already conjugated to biotin; there is no need to use a secondary to detect it. You can either use a Streptavidin or Avidin enzymatic (HRP) complex to react with the biotynilated antibody. There is a product available in our catalogue ready to use in sELISA with biotynilated antibodies:
However, we don’t have substrates available to detect peroxidase. You would then need to source it from a different supplier. A good chromogen substrate for peroxidase is TMB, commercialized by Thermo Scientific:
Please notice ab25811 is recommended to use in sandwich ELISA as detection antibody using product ab10110 as capture antibody:
The suggested concentration for both antibodies is 0.5ug /ml.
