Answer

Thank you for contacting us with your questions, and for your patience. I am currently waiting for more information regarding the QC testing and results shown with this antibody, and I will forward that information to you as soon as possible.

I do have answers for some of your questions:

In Western blot with mouse heart lysates, 3 bands were seen. One was around the correct molecular weight of 84 kDa, and there were also bands around 65 and 75 kDa. The identity of these extra bands is unknown.

The immunogenic peptide is 100% identical to the mouse protein sequence, and the antibody has shown positive results with murine heartlysates.

We have onlytried the antibody in Western blot, so unfortunately we do not know whether it will work in IHC. Many antibodies will work in both IHC and Western blot, but we are unable to guarantee the antibody in IHC based on the data that we have at this time.We dohave a testing discount program if you would be interested in using the antibody in IHC, and I'll be happy to send more information about this program if you'd like.

I'll be in touch shortly with more information from the lab regarding the QC testing, and I will send that to you. Please let me know if you have further questions in the meantime.

Answer

Thank you again for your email and for your patience while I have been in touch with the lab regarding the QC protocol for this antibody.

The antibody was tested using the immunogenic peptide in a blocking assay as a negative control. The target band was diminished to a great extent on the blot when the antibody wastreated with the blocking peptide, which showed specificity of the band around the expected 84 kDa.

I hope this information will be useful, but please let me know if you have any further questions and I'll be happy to help.
