Target

  • Relevance

28484 is a glycoprotein encoded by the PRG4 gene. It has been identified as a component of joint lubrication and synovial homeostasis by reducing friction in joints and preventing synovial cell overgrowth. It is a large, water soluble molecule that acts as a carrier for insoluble surface-active phospholipid (SAPL). Depletion of 28484 function has been associated with camptodactyly-arthropathy-coxa vara-pericarditis syndrome (CACP), an arthritic-like autosomal recessive disorder.
