      Answer

Thank you for taking the time to complete our questionnaire and contact us. I am sorry to hear you have had difficulty obtaining satisfactory results from this antibody.

The details you have kindly provided will provide us with vital information for our monitoring of product quality.

I appreciate the time you have spent in the laboratory and understand your concerns. It is regrettable the results have not been successful. Reviewing the details, I am sorry there are no further tips to provide on this occasion to help improve the results. I can suggest you have regrettably received a bad vial.

I apologise for the inconvenience and am pleased to offer you a free of charge replacement or credit note in compensation.

In addition, I can suggest you may like to consider the following suggestions as a check for future experiments:

We would recommend to try using RIPA lysis buffer for the sample preparation if not already tried and see if this achives any improvements of the results.

Furthermore we would recommend to load 40 ug of Protein sample if possible, to prevent overloading the gel.

Thank you for your cooperation. I look forward to hearing from you with details of how you would like to proceed.

      Answer

      Thank you for contacting us.

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties with one of our products. We take product complaints very seriously, and investigate every product that we feel may not be performing correctly.

I am attaching our questionnaire so that we can gather further information regarding the samples tested and the protocol used. Once we receive the completed questionnaire, we will look at the protocol and see if there are any suggestions we can make that may improve the results. This information will also allow us to investigate this case internally and initiate additional testing where necessary. If the product was purchased in the last six months and is being used according to our Abpromise, we would be happy to replace or refund the antibody.

I look forward to receiving your reply.

      Question

I am here to confirm my interest in your offer to test the above mentioned antibodies starting sometime in January 2012 (actual date to be informed later). I'd like to have the MMP12 as well if possible. Thanking you in advance.

      Answer

Considering that you would like to perform IHC on rabbit specimen, I agree that it is advisable to avoid antibodies generated in rabbit. Therefore, although the MMP12 antibody ab56305 shows a rather low sequence similarity across the full-length protein, it might indeed be the most appropriate of our MMP12 antibodies to test, as it is a mouse monoclonal antibody that is guaranteed to work in IHC-P. We have also a chicken polyclonal and a goat polyclonal anti-MMP12 antibody available. As these are not yet tested in IHC though, they might be a better option to test later, in case ab56305 might not work. DISCOUNT CODES: ab70191:xxx ab56777:xxx ab6328: xxx ab56305: xxx Expiration date: dd.mm.2012 I am very pleased to hear you would like to accept our offer and test these antibodies in rabbit. This code will give you 1 free primary antibody each before the expiration date. To redeem this offer, please submit an Abreview for rabbit and include this code in the “Additional Comments” section so we know the Abreview is for this promotion. For more information on how to submit an Abreview, please visit the site: www.abcam.com/Abreviews. Question

Hi,  My customer is working on her research using IHC on rabbit corneal tissue. Hence, I would like to know if the following antibodies has high sequence homology to rabbit or if you have any latest data that shows they can cross-react with rabbit tissue?  1. ab70191 Mo anti-Lumican 2. ab56777 Mo anti-ALDH1L1 3. ab56305 Mo anti-MMP12 4. ab6328 Mo anti-Fibronectin  Looking forward to your soonest reply.  Thank you.

      Asked on Nov 24 2011

      Answer

Thank you very much for your interest in our antibodies. The immunogen and epitope sequences, respectively, show the following similarities against rabbit: 1) ab70191: 93% 2) ab56777: 96% 3) ab56305: 72% 4) ab6328: 100% Due to this high homology, the anti-Lumican antibody, the anti-ALDH1L1 antibody and the anti-Fibronectin antibody are likely to cross-react with the rabbit orthologs, whereas the homology for the MMP12 antibody seems to low which is why we would not recommend testing this antibody. However, if requested I would be pleased to look for another anti-MMP12 antibody that might be suitable for rabbit, as we have for example antibody against the N- or C-terminus of the protein. To our knowledge, ab70191, ab56777 and ab6328 have not been tested in rabbit yet. Therefore, I can offer a discount off a future purchase if you buy ab70191, ab56777 and/or ab6328 now, test it in rabbit and submit feedback to us in the form of an Abreview. It doesn’t matter whether the Abreview is positive or negative, we would just really like to receive your feedback. The discount would be to the value of 1 free primary antibody each. If you are interested in this offer, please follow these steps: 1. Reply to this e-mail to let me know that you would like to proceed and test ab70191, ab56777 and/or ab6328 in rabbit. I will then send a discount code. This code must be issued before purchasing ab70191, ab56777 and/or ab6328 so please wait for my reply before ordering. 2. Purchase ab either by phone, fax, or online (www.abcam.com). 3. Test it in rabbit. 4. Let us know the results, positive or negative, using our Abreview system (this will take about 10 minutes and images are great if you have them!). To find out more about our Abreview system, please visit: https://www.abcam.com/abreviews. 5. After the review is submitted to us, the discount code becomes active. Simply place your new order by phone, fax, or on the web and mention the discount code. Each discount can be redeemed for any primary antibody ordered and the discount code is valid for 4 months after issue. We are always pleased to obtain feedback about our products and any information is greatly appreciated! Even if ab70191, ab56777 and/or ab6328 turn out to be unsuitable for rabbit, you will still receive the discount on your next purchase after your Abreview has been submitted. Please let me know if you have any questions about this offer and I would be happy to help you further. The Terms and Conditions of this offer can be found at: www.abcam.com/collaborationdiscount.
