Target

  • Function

    Acts as an endocytic receptor to direct captured antigens from the extracellular space to a specialized antigen-processing compartment (By similarity). Causes reduced proliferation of B-lymphocytes.

    Expressed in spleen, thymus, colon and peripheral blood lymphocytes. Detected in myeloid and B lymphoid cell lines. Isoform 2 and isoform 3 are expressed in malignant Hodgkin lymphoma cells called Hodgkin and Reed-Sternberg (HRS) cells.

Thank you for contacting us yesterday in regards to the anti-LY75 antibody (ab124897).

I now have some further information to share with you. The antibody has been tested in ICC ofRamos cells and the protocol used is attached to this email. I am sorry but I do not have an image of the results obtained to share with you.

As we discussed over the phone, ab124897 has been raised against the intracellular domain of the LY75 protein. I have had a look through the other antibodies we have against this target and we only have one which I can be sure would bind to the extracellular domain. This is the antibody ab93851 which has been raised against a synthetic peptide taken from within the residues 150-250 of human LY75. The other antibodies we have may detect the extracellular domain but as they are mostly raised against tissue homogonate we could not be sure of this.

Ab93851 is a rabbit polyclonal which has currently only been used in Western blotting of human samples. This does not mean that it would not work in your experiments, simply that we have not tried it ourselves and would therefore not be able to guarantee it. If you would be interested, you would qualify for the testing discount if you wanted to try this antibody.
