Reproducibility is key to advancing scientific discovery and accelerating scientists’ next breakthrough.
Abcam is leading the way with our range of recombinant antibodies, knockout-validated antibodies and knockout cell lines, all of which support improved reproducibility.
We are also planning to innovate the way in which we present recommended applications and species on our product datasheets, so that only applications & species that have been tested in our own labs, our suppliers or by selected trusted collaborators are covered by our Abpromise™ guarantee.
In preparation for this, we have started to update the applications & species that this product is Abpromise guaranteed for.
We are also updating the applications & species that this product has been “predicted to work with,” however this information is not covered by our Abpromise guarantee.
Applications & species from publications and Abreviews that have not been tested in our own labs or in those of our suppliers are not covered by the Abpromise guarantee.

Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab271253 in the following tested applications.
The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
|WB||Use a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 µg/ml. Predicted molecular weight: 10 kDa.|
|Sandwich ELISA||Use at an assay dependent concentration.|
FunctionMonokine with inflammatory and chemokinetic properties. Binds to CCR1, CCR4 and CCR5. One of the major HIV-suppressive factors produced by CD8+ T-cells. Recombinant MIP-1-alpha induces a dose-dependent inhibition of different strains of HIV-1, HIV-2, and simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV).
Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family.
modificationsN-terminal processed form LD78-alpha(4-69) is produced by proteolytic cleavage after secretion from HTLV1-transformed T-cells.

Western blot analysis of varying levels of Recombinant human MIP-1α protein using ab271253 at 0.1 µg/ml.
Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant MIP-1α is 1.5 - 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
Human MIP-1α was detected by sandwich ELISA (using 100μl/well) using a concentration of 0.25-1.0 μg/ml of ab271253. This antibody in conjunction with an appropriate capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4 ng/well of recombinant MIP-1α protein.
