The literature in the mouse shows that MAP3K15 specifically stains the CA2 region of the hippocampus as well as other non-hippocampal regions. This was not found in the rat using this antibody. There apeared to be some staining throughout the pyramidal layer in all regions of the hippocampus. It could however be background staining. It is unclear. It is likely that the problem is due to the antibody. There was high background staining and much of the neuronal staining seen in other regions could be due to background. The alternative is that MAP3K15 does not specifically stain the CA2 in rat, although this is very unlikely.
Thank you so much for testing this antibody in rat and IHC-Fr. We appreciate very much your efforts, but are sorry to hear that the antibody did not work well in this species and application.
We welcome additional feedback from other customers as well.
