  • Function

    Chemotactic factor that attracts monocytes and basophils but not neutrophils or eosinophils. Augments monocyte anti-tumor activity. Has been implicated in the pathogenesis of diseases characterized by monocytic infiltrates, like psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis or atherosclerosis. May be involved in the recruitment of monocytes into the arterial wall during the disease process of atherosclerosis.

    Observed band size: 17 kDa
    why is the actual band size different from the predicted?
    Additional bands at: 125 kDa, 50 kDa (possible glycosylated form), 80 kDa. We are unsure as to the identity of these extra bands.



    The expression profile observed is consistent with what has been described in the literature (e.g. PMID 12957789). We believe the 50kDa band is a glycosylated form of Human MCP1.
  • ab73680, at a 1/250 dilution, staining human MCP1 in adrenal gland tissue by Immunohistochemistry, Formalin fixed Paraffin embedded tissue.

  • Immunohistochemical analysis of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma tissue, staining MCP1 with ab73680.

    Antigen retrieval was performed by heat mediation in citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Tissue was blocked with 1% BSA for 10 min. The samples incubated overnight with primary antibody (1/40). Staining was detected using DAB. Sections were counterstained with hematoxylin.
