Target

  • Function

Chemotactic factor that attracts monocytes and basophils but not neutrophils or eosinophils. Augments monocyte anti-tumor activity. Has been implicated in the pathogenesis of diseases characterized by monocytic infiltrates, like psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis or atherosclerosis. May be involved in the recruitment of monocytes into the arterial wall during the disease process of atherosclerosis.
  • Sequence similarities

Belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family.
  • Post-translational
    modifications

Processing at the N-terminus can regulate receptor and target cell selectivity. Deletion of the N-terminal residue converts it from an activator of basophil to an eosinophil chemoattractant.
  • Cellular localization

    Secreted.
  • Target information above from: UniProt accession P13500 The UniProt Consortium
The Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) in 2010

We have recieved the Ab ab9858 reconstituted in about 500 µl (to be confirmed).
In your spec sheet you mentione that the Ab should be lyophylized. Could you
confirm this? Is there a problem on the sheet or the Ab?
Thank you.
Cheers,

Thank you for your recent enquiry.

I have confirmed with our goods out department that this item was reconstituted before sending out to you.

Therefore, you will not need to do any further reconstitution, and I can suggest to ensure it is stored as stated on the datasheet:

Store at +4oC short term (1-2 weeks). Aliquot and store at -20oC long term. Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.

I sincerely apologize for any confusion in this case. I would like to reassure you that the antibody will be covered by our 6 month Abpromise guarantee for the tested applications and species listed on the datasheet.

Answer

Thank you for contacting Abcam.

All of the IHC information that we have for ab9858 is available on the website, below is a copy of that protocol information:

"ab9858 staining MCP1 in human breast invasive ductal carcinoma tissue section by Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA fixed paraffin-embedded sections). Tissue underwent heat mediated antigen retrieval in sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The primary antibody was used at 10 ug/ml and incubated with sample at 4°C overnight. A HRP-labeled polymer detection system was used with a DAB chromogen"

I have also attached the Abcam general IHC protocol for you as well.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
