Receptor for glutamate. The activity of this receptor is mediated by a G-protein that activates a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. May participate in the central action of glutamate in the CNS, such as long-term potentiation in the hippocampus and long-term depression in the cerebellum. -

Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections) - Anti-mGluR1 antibody (ab82211)Rat dorsal root ganglion. Tissue was fixed in 4% paraformaldehyde and cut into 10 micron sections. ab82211 was used at a dilution of 1/200 and secondary antibody at a dilution of 1/5000.

ab82211 staining mGluR1 in rat cerebellum tissue by Immunohistochemistry (Frozen sections).Tissue was fixed in paraformaldehyde, permeabilized using Triton X-100, blocked with 7% serum for 3 hours at 25°C, then incubated with ab82211 at a 1/200 dilution for 10 hours at 25°C. The secondary used was an undiluted HRP conjugated goat polyclonal.
