Inquiry: I recently ordered the MMP Activity Assay Kit (112147). I thought it was a MMP activity kit for specific MMPs. This looks that I can only measure total MMP activity without any specificity. I am interested in measuring the MMP activity of MMP-7.-9-12. How is this possible?

Thank you for your enquiry. I am sorry it has taken some time to obtain and clarify some information for you.
I can confirm that ab112147 MMP Activity Assay Kit (Fluorometric - Red) is designed for measuring total MMP activity. The results shown on the data sheet are from an experiment that analyzed the purified various MMP proteins separately. I have contacted our datasheets team and asked them to update the datasheet to make this clearer.
I can suggest you may like to consider trying including inhibitors to the MMP proteins you don't want to measure. This would then provide a reading for only the MMP you are interested in. I have attached a publication which may be helpful.
I am sorry to confirm we regrettably do not have separate kits available for determination of MMP 7, 9 or 12 activity. We do have ELISA kits for quantification for these individual MMP proteins.
