    Abcam’s IL-12 p70 Monkey in vitro ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is designed for accurate quantitative measurement of Monkey IL-12 p70 concentrations in Cell culture supernatant and serum (baboon).


    Monkey IL-12 p70 specific antibodies have been precoated onto 96-well plates. Standards and test samples are added to the wells along with a biotin-conjugated Monkey IL-12 p70 detection antibody then incubated at room temperature. Following washing, a Streptavidin-HRP conjugate is added to each well, incubated at room temperature and washed. TMB is added and then catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changes into yellow after addition of an acidic stop solution. The density of yellow coloration is directly proportional to the amount of Monkey IL-12 p70 captured on the plate.

We have not tested our ELISA in high salt Tris-based buffers and thus cannot tell you with a certainty how this buffer will affect the assay.

High salt concentrations have been known to affect antibody binding. It is possible that the high salt concentration may cause the capture antibody in this kit to dissociate from its target antigen.

If the customer is going to attempt this, they should first attempt to use the buffer alone and a spike recovery with a known concentration of our standard in order to determine if the buffer will affect antigen

recognition by the capture antibody.
